Stories Together

What is Stories Together?

Stories Together is an exciting project from The Forest of Dean Children’s Opportunity Centre, which brings generations together through reading. The Covid-19 pandemic highlighted the impact loneliness and isolation have across our community and across generations. We are giving our children the opportunity to build rewarding and interesting connections we make with local people and services.

Stories Together is a simple concept where we can safely reconnect with others through virtual reading. We look for storytellers from all age groups to read to preschool children over Facetime, Skype, Zoom, etc.  All you will need is a device such as a tablet, phone or laptop that can make a video call and a little enthusiasm to read and talk to the children.

The project has been made possible with support from the Forest Voluntary Action Forum (FVAF) and funding from the Forest of Dean Covid-19 Safer Communities Fund, with Coleford Town Council kindly funding an extensive collection of new children’s books.
