Getting Kids Outside

Getting Kids Outside

This article describes just how important it is for all kids to spend time playing outside and exploring the world around them. There are some great ideas in the article on how you can turn your outside space into an accessible place for all children to enjoy. The ideas are mostly free and you don’t even need to have your own garden, a few things can be packed into a bag and taken to the local park.

The proven health benefits of children spending time outside are enormous and being outside in the day can even help your child sleep better at night.

At the Centre we try and use our outside space as much as possible regardless of weather and if your child isn’t at our nursery here, why not try our Stay and Play Group on a Wednesday morning where the playroom staff always have some sort of fun outside (and usually messy!) activity up there sleeve!! This session is open to all children and families, whether the child has an additional need or not.
