100 Million Minutes Reading Challenge

100 Million Minutes Reading Challenge

To help celebrate this year’s World Book Day, the Centre has signed up to the 100 Million Minutes Reading Challenge, which will be running throughout March 2018 organised by Achievements for All. Childcare settings and Schools across the UK will be taking part and helping children incorporate a few reading into their daily schedule.

Introducing children and young people to the habit of reading in every day life is a vital educational tool, helping them to improve their imagination and communication skills, and brighten their future prospects.

Research shows that just ten minutes of reading a day makes a huge difference to a child’s progress. We hope that the 100 Million Minutes Reading Challenge will encourage many more children and young people to read, and to read for longer, in school, at home and beyond.

Children will be taking part at the Centre but reading minutes can also be counted if completed at home. Speak to Sonia for more information and be in with a chance of helping the Centre win some amazing prizes!!
